At our annual conference in Denmark, EARMA unveiled its new strategy, 'The Future is Now', guiding the association's direction from 2024 to 2028. Joined by community members at the Odense Congress Centre, the EARMA Board and executive management team introduced this exciting new strategic document. The EARMA strategy centres on three pivotal areas aimed at bolstering the professionalisation and recognition of the European research management (RM) community: community engagement, professional development, and recognition. These pillars will support networking among research managers, facilitate career growth through ongoing professional development, and advocate for impactful policy changes at European and national levels through collaboration with national RM communities. We would very much like to thank EARMA's core members for their invaluable contributions to shaping this strategic plan, ensuring that the membership remains at the forefront of EARMA's objectives for the years ahead. Together, we will embark on this journey towards a brighter and more empowered future for the European research management community. More
EARMA launched the association's position paper on the upcoming European Union (EU) Framework Programme during the annual conference in Odense, Denmark. Titled "10 Recommendations for FP10," this paper represents the collective voice of European research managers and administrators (RMAs). It emphasises the need for dedicated funding streams to bolster research management (RM), streamline bureaucracy, and foster synergies with other EU and national funding programmes. Moreover, it advocates for an ambitious and ring-fenced budget for FP10 to drive innovation and collaboration. In alignment with the European Commission's commitment to enhancing the strategic capacity of Europe's research organisations via ERA Action 17, FP10 presents significant opportunities for advancing the professionalisation and recognition of the RM profession. Presented by Eleonora Zuolo, Chair of EARMA's Policy and Representation Committee, the launch session at the conference was just the beginning. An information session for the community is scheduled for May 28 16:30 - 18:00 CEST. Registration is now open and we eagerly encourage our members to join the discussion as we shape the future of research management in Europe together. Register
