On November 4, 2024, Science Europe invites you to join their webinar on how can we build more attractive and sustainable careers in research. The online event aims to explore the common and different expectations for careers in research by different stakeholder groups, and the opportunities for positive action that exist based on these expectations. Existing good practice examples from within and outside of academia will be presented and used as inspiration.
In the first session, moderated by Jolanta Sinkuniene, Anneke Kastelein, Liz Simmonds and Dipti Pandya will explore the expectations of the research community, and the positive actions that research organisations can take to support research quality and positive research cultures.
The second session with Verity Elston, Dr Adelheid Wessler and Giorgio Chiarelli - moderated by Anjana Buckow - will look at good examples of how career and professional development is supported, and how we can recognise a broader range of skills and contributions as part of the career pathways of research professionals.
Sean Sapcariu will moderate the closing session, exploring actions that can promote international cooperation and addressing the challenges and opportunities that exist for research careers, including issues such as mobility and precarity, with Manuel Aleixo, Cláudia S. Sarrico and Vinciane Gaillard.
This webinar is part of a larger initiative to co-create innovative solutions for the challenges facing the research sector. Don't miss this opportunity and register to share your thoughts on the future of research careers.
