Since its launch in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Virtual Event Grant (VEG) has been a catalyst for innovation and creativity in planning and executing virtual events. We are pleased to continue this successful grant programme and eagerly anticipate the unique ideas and proposals you will bring to the table this year.
We invite you to think outside the box and let your imagination run wild. Whether you are organising a workshop, seminar, or any other type of virtual event, we want to hear your innovative ideas. Be daring and push the boundaries of what's possible in the virtual space. The only requirement is to align with our standard travel award selection criteria. Additionally, we are interested in how your proposed event will bring value to both organisers and participants, as well as how collaboration with other organisations can enhance the overall experience.
We have allocated a total of €1,000 to support either a collaborative event by a small group of institutions or two separate events hosted by individual institutions. We also welcome applications for smaller amounts, as this allows for the potential funding of more projects. The grant funding can be used for various purposes, including the design, promotion, and delivery of the virtual event, as well as fees for external speakers. Please note that staffing and overhead costs are not eligible for funding.
Applicants should have a minimum of two years' experience in research management and administration. Current EARMA members in good standing are eligible to apply, provided they have maintained their membership for at least the previous membership year. However, please note that Board and Award Committee members, as well as members who have received grants in the same or consecutive calendar year, are not eligible. Please review EARMA's general terms and conditions, with a specific focus on the VEG rules taking precedence. It is essential to calculate and provide a detailed justification for the requested funding amount.
The VEG uses a dedicated application form that must be completed by the specified deadline. All nominations must be received by 17:00 (CEST) on Monday, July 10, 2023. The EARMA Awards Committee will evaluate the nominations and provide recommendations to the EARMA Board for review. Awardees will receive written notification of the decision once ratified by the EARMA Board.
We eagerly anticipate receiving your inspiring event proposals and the incredible virtual experiences they will create. Let us continue to foster innovation and creativity in the realm of virtual events through the Virtual Event Grant (VEG) 2023.
