Abstract
In a world where data is power, we need to ensure decision-making is driven by data. But it’s a challenge. Whether supporting strategic initiatives or dealing with information overload, making sense of it all can be hard. Data-driven decision making is at the forefront of research excellence and this poster showcases some good examples of how big data can identify university strengths, evaluate progress towards strategic goals, and identify areas of growth (in funding, industry partnership, and evaluation). University leadership need a lot of data to make informed decisions; these data, displayed responsibly, can be used to answer specific questions about benchmarking, horizon scanning, research, and evaluation--using academic and societal metrics.
