Abstract
The European funding advisors at the Innovation & Impact Centre of TU Delft did a thorough analysis of about 100 evaluation summary reports (ESR’s) of Horizon 2020 and the Horizon Europe work programme including about 40 ESR’s for pillar 2 of Horizon Europe. We did this analysis to identify strong and weak points of the TU Delft proposals with the aim to improve our services.
TU Delft was successful in the first year of Horizon Europe with 95 collaborative projects where TU Delft researchers participate, with a success rate of 25% overall in pillars 2&3 (until Sept 2022). We identified differences in ESR’s between proposals where TU Delft was coordinator and beneficiary. These interesting insights provides information for tailored advice towards coordinators and partners.
We looked at every aspect of the evaluation criteria of each section and analysed the overall scores. We identified the strengths and weaknesses and translated this into trends and learning points to improve our advice for future successful proposals. With this poster we would like to share the methodology of the ESR evaluation as well as to engage in the discussion with colleagues at EARMA on how to use an analysis of ESR’s and what can we learn from it?
