EARMA Conference Oslo

Format: Fifteen-Minute Discussion Tables

Topic: Organising Support Services & Team Building

Session: BLUE4 - 15 Minute Discussion Tables - AI; (Post)COVID teams & grant audits

Thursday 5 May 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m. (UTC)

Abstract

Each 15-minute discussion kicks off with the presenters introducing summarized barriers/themes to project management of projects that started during COVID restrictions (60 seconds):
i) building rapport,
ii) establishing trust in small teams,
iii) maintaining momentum, and
iv) other (where participants are welcome to suggest a topic/theme).
After a short vote (30 seconds max), the 1-2 themes with the most votes will be the focus of the remaining 13.5 minutes. The presenters will share their own experience of things that did (and did not!) work for them (60 seconds max, prepared in advance), and invite others to share their experiences and/or ask specific questions to participants, moderated by the presenters. In the last minute, the presenters will summarize the discussion and offer all participants (if they wish) to join a group chat/list to be in touch for future questions/brainstorming.
All participants will walk away from this meeting with:
1. Tips for virtual project management (and navigating ongoing and future 'unexpected' barriers)
2. Ideas to build rapport, establish trust, or maintain momentum with teams 'from a distance'
3. A new set of peers to keep in touch with and share questions/ideas.
