About the Event

Join us for the first on-site meeting of the European Universities Initiative (EUI) Thematic Group of EARMA. Engage in knowledge sharing and networking that will broaden your horizons in organizing RMA services in European Universities, engaging researchers in collaboration within the EUI, and creating new opportunities for integrating R&I dimension into the alliances.

We will discuss the following topics:

  • - Building of research offices in European University Alliances and their embedding in the institutional context developed through mostly education-focused Erasmus+ projects.
  • - Motivation of researchers to build new collaborations within the framework of European University Alliances, facilitation of collaboration through seed/pilot R&I projects, and operational arrangements of such projects.
  • - Benefits and activities for researchers enabled directly through Erasmus+ projects.
  • - Future of R&I funding for European University Alliances.

The programme will be co-created by all participants. You are welcome to suggest your contributions, delivered as short presentations, in the registration forms.

Practical Information

The event will take place at Olandų 21A, Vilnius, in the premises of the National Film School (KIMO). Located just a short distance from Vilnius Old Town, the venue offers a convenient and inspiring setting surrounded by cultural landmarks.

Public transportation options are easily accessible, with several bus stops nearby, making it simple to reach the venue from different parts of the city.

If accommodation is needed, we recommend staying in hotels close to the city center, such as Artis Centrum Hotels, Amberton Cathedral Square Hotel Vilnius, Marriott Courtyard, ibis Vilnius Centre, Narutis Hotel, Shakespeare Boutique Hotel Vilnius and more. These options provide comfort and are within easy reach of the venue.

Travel Information

Vilnius airport (VNO) is 7 km from the city centre, or 12-15 minutes by car or an express bus.

Do not take a taxi at the airport. If you want to travel by taxi, the recommended and cheapest ones are Bolt and Uber. Pick up zone is right in front of the airport. The average trip within the city costs 5-10 EUR, depending on the time and traffic.

Nearest bus stops to KIMO: Šv. Petro ir Povilo bažnyčia st. (Church of Sts. Peter and Paul St.), Vasaros St. Vilnius is quite a compact, cozy, and beautiful city: most prominent spots of the Old Town, Užupis, and Centre are within walking distance from KIMO, about 20-30 min. away, which we highly recommend for sustainability reasons.
