Abstract

How to achieve Horizon collaboration excellence?
Have you been awarded a Horizon Europe project or planning to apply for one in the future? It is crucial knowing which key strategies and best practices to put in place before and during your project. This can make the difference between a good project and a great project.
The question we will address in this session is which key strategies and best practices to put in place to attain collaboration excellence in Horizon Europe funded projects.
Does that start with a clear and concise Consortium Agreement, with an emphasis on fostering open communication between partners, or does it involve the development of effective tools for monitoring progress and assessing the project's success – or all of the above?
Horizon projects bring together a range of different actors with a vast range of expertise, but often with limited (or even no) experience in managing Horizon projects. Moreover, in projects that have both public and private sector partners, balancing both research and commercial interests is an ongoing process that requires collaboration, effective communication, and adaptability. When done well, it can lead to successful projects that not only advance scientific knowledge but also generate commercial value.
