Abstract

This presentation will introduce a hands-on, practical approach on how funding advisers/grants office members shall support their research groups in developing the gender dimension in R&I content section.
The presentation offers insights into how to integrate the gender dimension into research content in ways that enhances the quality, relevance and applicability of research results, how to apply a gender lens to proposals and their research content and how to help researchers ask the right questions.
Liv Baisner Petersen, Head of SDU’s Gender Equality Team, will present an example of how the gender dimension in research translates into practice, such as sex and gender analysis. Tools and resources will be presented. Liv Baisner Petersen will share the logic and examples from a real proposal – a collaborative project in the field of natural sciences - on how to ask relevant questions as you design or advice projects.
Gabriella Lovasz, managing director at Europa Media will be sharing tips and tricks how research advisers shall be fully prepared to support research groups coming from different disciplines to write better proposals through carefully considering the gender dimension in their research topics.
The presentation shall be interactive, allowing time for Q&A and discussions.

Participants can expect an introduction to the following:
- How to understand the concepts of sex and gender and their relevance for research
- How and why sex-and gender-related issues influence research and innovation
