Abstract
EARMA aim to provide a large selection of services to the community members, and similar to other RMA communities around the world EARMA has decided to pilot a Mentorship scheme. In this discussion table we present a scenario for an EARMA Mentorship scheme and we invite the people around the table to discuss the feasibility and attractiveness of a scheme including the motivation, design and desired outcomes.
The purpose of the discussion is to collect the members' responses to the presented schemes to finetune the final recommendations for the pilot scheme and the session will give members the opportunity to express their needs and thoughts and benefit from other experiences beyond their own.
KEY MESSAGE: The EARMA network is the right place for the purpose of mentoring, to connect individuals who have a lot of knowledge and experience with others who are not at the same level of knowledge or experience. Also, even experienced RMAs and institutions with well established processes could benefit from exchanging experiences with others and seeing how others do things. To provide members with mentoring support is the best way to accelerate their personal and professional development, and even go way beyond the mentee’s development taking advantage of this community as a cultural and networking experience exchange.
