Abstract
Innovation comes after the research and before the commercialization or it comes during the research process? How innovation can support research and education to become better? Questions that universities, research institutions, and governments need to answer soon.
The round table invites participants to reflect on: 1. What problems do research and education face in sustainable innovation? 2. What are the actions that should be taken to increase the innovation potential in universities? 3. What are the means of innovation in an academic environment?
Universities are under increasing pressure to respond to sustainably transform their education and research models to find new opportunities and avenues for innovation, commercialization of research and technology, social engagement, and growth.
The fusion of education, research, innovation, sustainability, technology, business, and an entrepreneurial mindset is creating the playground for achieving competitive and sustainable developments in society. And Universities have to take on this new role of facilitators of innovative thinking by creating, developing, and applying new innovative environments.
