Abstract
The EARMAimpact special interest group has gathered together a membership of almost 200 participants since its inception in early 2021. However, we noted at our kick off meeting in Brussels in September 2022 that our membership was predominantly from well-established universities from non-widening countries. We recognise that the development of a strategic approach to impact at an institutional level, as well the development and implementation of tools to support the writing of competitive impact driven Horizon Europe proposal are a very resource and labour intensive endeavour. Therefore as a group we sought to develop solutions to overcome these challenges. Laising with BESTPRAC we engaged in a codesign exercise with colleagues from universities from Widening countries, in order to perform a needs analysis on what supports they require to meet the impact needs at an institutional level. We looked also on how the EARMAimpact special interest group can seek to meet these needs through their work programme. In this presentation to the EARMA 2023 conference we will present this codesign and needs analysis exercise as well as the starting tools that have been developed to date.
