Abstract
Do you want to build dashboards but need some inspiration? This session will help you bridge the gap from a universe of data to beautiful dynamic dashboards, which help answer strategic research evaluation questions. This presentation shows the results of compiling multiple datasets, in order to generate insights about the trends, landscape, and impact of a university’s research.
This session will introduce several publicly available datasets: Dimensions’ Covid-19 dataset, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and others; show how they are connected using Google BigQuery, and bring those data together in several simple but powerful dashboards, using Looker Studio.
The presentation will illustrate some alternatives in dashboard design and layout, and demonstrate how a dashboard can be used to both answer specific, strategic questions and prompt important, critical follow-up questions.
