Abstract
In 2020 the Radboud University Nijmegen (RU) in the Netherlands launched an EU support programme aiming to increase the number and quality of EU collaborative proposals. To achieve this, efforts were made to strengthen research funding support for the Horizon Europe programme across institutions, faculties and support functions in the University, involving over 30 staff members. Through trial and error we have strengthened our collaborative efforts and knowledge sharing throughout the university, developed joint support approaches and functional EU grant support tools, and clarified grant support roles and responsibilities. Our next step is to mainstream these activities into our regular workflows.
After three years, the fruits of our collaborative efforts have started to trickle down into concrete results. We see a significant increase in successful, high quality collaborative EU proposals coordinated by the RU. In this presentation we aim to present the challenges, solutions and opportunities we faced in strengthening grant support for Horizon Europe funding at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. Furthermore, we would like to share best practices and engage with EARMA participants to exchange experiences, ideas and perspectives.
