Abstract
The University of Copenhagen (UCPH) has for years worked on improving the research support in relation to the EU framework programmes (FP). Over the years processes have been developed aimed at various types of FP proposals and to develop more coherent approaches across the organisation
As for supporting collaborative projects in general, and coordinators of these proposals specifically, the processes have evolved with each new FP, reflecting the changes in thematic and strategic priorities for the FPs and for UCPH.
In this presentation we will introduce our current approach to find and support coordinators of RIA/IA/CSA proposals and involve the audience in finding ways on how to overcome the many pitfalls in such support processes.
Our session will cover the following three main areas:
1 - State of play at UCPH’s EU pre-award support for coordinators of collaborative projects:
a) securing collaboration and support from across the university
b) bridging the gaps in a big complex organisation
2 - From finding the coordinator to the final submission, main points for open discussion:
a) how to scout for coordinators; how to get researcher to start early?
b) who should/could be involved in the proposal development?
3 - The difference between reading a chart and steering a ship
a) Open discussion - what we should do when all the plans crumble in the meeting with real life proposal work?
Expected learning outcomes
a) Insights into the complexity of supporting EU collaborative proposals based on UCPH EU pre-award as a case study
b) Sharing of best practices and ideas with peers
