Format: Fifteen-Minute Discussion Tables
Topic: 7. Transnational Collaborations
Abstract
As China has emerged as a major global player in AI, collaborations with China present unique opportunities and challenges for researchers and managers. This discussion aims to explore how to establish research partnerships with China that align with prevalent principles and ethical considerations.
I will present the results of a process undertaken jointly by the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers (HGF) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) to facilitate collaboration. We established three working groups covering Open Data, Research Ethics and IP; as a member of the HGF-CAS joint working group on Research Ethics I can share my views on this topic.
Additionally, I hope to learn from other participants' experiences and approaches to fostering sustainable partnerships with Chinese institutions. Together, we can share best practices and identify common challenges to enhance the management of international research projects.
