Conference

INORMS Congress Madrid 2025

Format: Fifteen-Minute Discussion Tables

Topic: 3. Knowledge Valorisation

Abstract

In this roundtable discusssion we'd like to shed light on the ever increasing need to put sometimes continuous focus on entrepreneurial aspects when managing research (and PIs). From the moment of Ideation all the way to transferable, translational globally relevant commercialization outcomes. Experts in the field will share with discussants how to use good practice examples and build one's own portfolio of: How to act, manage and administer with an entrepreneurial eye.

Learning outcomes:
- How to steer your PI's focus slowly but steadily towards a translational and entrepreneurial connotation of their respective research
- Starting early in the game: Ideation is the first moment for what's to come and when to turn towards the KTO colleagues to also talk about future translational and commercially viable aspects with PIs; during planning, execution and commercialization this continues to grow and create impact
- Takeaway message: It is never too early to talk about: So what? Does it matter? Entrepreneurial aspects with your PIs
