Abstract

As the European Research Area (ERA) advances the reform of research assessment, traditional metrics, such as the h-index and Journal Impact Factor, are increasingly recognized as inadequate to capture the diverse contributions researchers make to science and society. The GraspOS project, supported by Horizon Europe, aims to address these challenges by developing a federated open infrastructure to support the reform towards Responsible Research Assessment (RRA) and promote Open Science (OS) practices.

The design is being refined in collaboration with a diverse set of national funding agencies, universities, and disciplines, whose critical feedback is collected to ensure that the infrastructure meets the various needs of the research community. GraspOS provides research managers and administrators with tools to implement Open Science-aware RRA procedures, aligning with the goals of the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment (ARRA) to foster a more inclusive, transparent, and impactful research culture.

The aim of this poster is to gather feedback from Research Managers and Administrators on infrastructure components (tools and services) that accurately illustrate researchers' contributions by integrating qualitative and quantitative elements into the creation of a comprehensive Researcher Profile. A key concept showcased is the Narrative CV, presented as an interactive timeline which allows researchers to highlight their contributions across multiple domains, including education, policy, societal impact, and Open Science practices. This novel approach promotes a more holistic evaluation of research activities, moving beyond publication-based metrics.
