AI Chatbots for Efficient Research Management
Enhancing Research Management Efficiency with AI: A Case Study on Building Chatbots Using ChatGPT and Microsoft Teams Co-pilot Studio
Conference
Format: Oral 30 Minutes
Topic: 6. Responsible Use of AI in Research Management
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence is transforming research management by providing new opportunities to improve operational efficiency. This presentation will explore the practical use of AI-driven tools, specifically ChatGPT and Microsoft Teams Co-pilot Studio, to develop chatbots that streamline research administration.
Participants will gain practical insights into identifying automatable tasks and creating AI-driven workflows. The presentation will walk through the key steps of chatbot development, starting with defining problems, identifying the audience, and setting objectives. It will then cover how to design a conversation flow that effectively engages users and identifying the necessary data sources. Attendees will take a deep dive into the process of building a chatbot using ChatGPT and Microsoft Teams Co-pilot Studio, followed by testing, publishing to relevant channels, and continuous monitoring and optimisation.
Additionally, participants will learn about the skillsets and team structure needed to successfully implement AI-driven tools in their organisations. Through this case study, they will explore the advantages and limitations of ChatGPT and Microsoft Teams Co-pilot Studio, helping them choose the most suitable tool for their needs. The presentation will share lessons learned from the implementation process, offering a balanced view of the challenges and opportunities AI presents in research management.
By the end of the session, participants will leave with actionable knowledge on how to implement AI in their institutions, making research management more efficient, sustainable, and adaptable to evolving demands.
The presentation will last 20 minutes, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. Audience interaction will be encouraged using Mentimeter to gather inputs and enhance the overall learning experience.
