This presentation explores how Research Managers and Administrators with expertise in Grants Management and Grants Office Leadership can leverage their experience for effective lobbying when leading a Liaison Office. It will identify key skills needed for Research and Innovation Lobbyists, including:
• Policy and Funding Landscape: Understanding research priorities, funding instruments, and policy processes.
• Communication and Advocacy Strategies: Effectively communicating research needs and priorities to policymakers and stakeholders.
• Building Relationships and Networks: Cultivating connections with key decision-makers in the EU ecosystem.
The presentation will also explore strategies for Research Managers to position themselves as prime stakeholders for public consultations. This includes:
• Demonstrating Expertise: Highlighting past successes in grantsmanship and research leadership.
• Building a Track Record: Participating in relevant consultations and workshops.
• Engaging Proactively: Identifying upcoming consultations and actively contributing well-considered responses.
