Diversity & Inclusion in research proposals
Addressing and incorporating Diversity & Inclusion in Research proposals
Conference
Format: Fifteen-Minute Discussion Tables
Topic: 5. Proposal, Award and Project Management
Abstract
The realization that good research is diverse and inclusive is becoming increasingly prominent in the research landscape. Both researchers and funders recognize the importance of addressing differences between people, incorporating this into your research from the start and gaining awareness about how these affect your results. This asks for new skills and ideas both from the researchers and from the research support perspective, who often have no idea where to start. Translating awareness of the importance of including diversity in research design and execution into actions could be facilitated by discussions, the presence of particular resources, or tools.
In this discussion table, we will exchange ideas about the approach to promoting the incorporation of diversity into research proposals. We aim to collect the results from our discussion into a set of concrete tools or action points that will contribute to facilitating diverse and inclusive research from the design phase onwards.
