Abstract

This session focuses on the challenges and support systems within the Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions (MSCA). In particular, it will explore the significant yet often overlooked contributions of research and project managers in driving collaborative MSCA projects.

We will discuss the unique challenges encountered by project managers in the MSCA framework, especially those new to the field without prior experience or established networks. The session will include real-world examples to highlight these challenges and the importance of structured mentorship and guidance.

A key part of our discussion will be the development and impact of the Research Management Working Group of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA). This segment will focus on how the group has evolved to become a critical source of support, promoting collaboration, and knowledge exchange, and offering specialised assistance to research managers throughout Europe.
