EARMA Conference Oslo call for abstracts

EARMA Conference Oslo call for abstracts

The European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA) is very pleased to announce the date of the opening of the call for abstract submissions for the 2022 EARMA Conference in Oslo.

The abstract submission system is NOW open, via the EARMA website and we are encouraging all of our community to get involved in this very special event. The theme for the next EARMA conference is:

Research support in the new normal

This event will take place May 4-6, 2022, at the Oslo Congress Centre, Oslo, Norway. The last time that our community was able to come together was in 2019, so this EARMA Conference will be the most anticipated event yet. As such, interest will be high.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to 17:00 CET, October 8, 2021, and the guide with details on the submission and evaluation criteria will be published together with the call. The preliminary programme will be available in December 2021, with early bird registration opening in the same month.

The Annual Conference Programme Committee (ACPC) is now inviting submissions for oral and poster contributions for inclusion in the Conference 2022 programme with a focus on Research support in the new normal.

Maria Maunula, Chair of the EARMA Annual Conference Programme Committee (ACPC), said: “We are very much looking forward to reading all of the EARMA community’s interesting abstracts. While the ACPC welcomes submissions on any aspect of research management and administration, in 2022 we are particularly interested in receiving submissions that will involve presenters from multiple organisations or countries, as well as submissions from widening countries.”

“Case studies, practical initiatives, operational 'lessons learned', relating to the practical day-to-day operation of a research office in a busy research performing organisation, with both pre- and post-award submissions welcome. We are particularly inviting presentations and posters covering new areas in addition to presentations from new RMAs are encouraged.”

It is not mandatory to be an EARMA member to make a submission, however you will need to login to the abstract submission system and create a profile to start your submission. Bursaries will be made available to support some speakers to attend according to their circumstances. The call to apply for these bursaries will be sent to all chosen speakers with more details on the call when the choices for content are made.

We are also collaborating with the Journal of Research Management and Administration (JoRMA) to bring some of your quality content to the larger RMA audience. For more details on the JoRMA journal visit here.

We will also continue using external evaluators and the call for those contributors will open later in August 2021.
